Meet Heather

Hi, I'm Heather, I am a massage therapist and owner of Heather Bain Massage Lagos.  I help people to find balance through massage and body work therapies to achieve a better understanding of their body,  and their physical and emotional health to create an improved sense of health and well-being.

I moved to Portugal almost 10 years ago after leaving Scotland for what I thought was a temporary period of time.  After falling in love with Lagos and becoming involved in the tourism industry running surf and wellness retreats, I eventually discovered massage and began my therapeutic journey.  

My goal is to help people to not only feel better physically, but to identify and understand the impact of lifestyle and stress on their bodies, to work together in to alleviate these symptoms and learn how to take care of their health and wellbeing

If you struggle with ongoing tension, injury or stress related symptoms, I would love to help you get positive results, through looking at your day to day activity, posture, and other lifestyle factors which may be impacting on your body to help you feel more relaxed, and stronger physically and emotionally.

Recently I have expanded my services in the area of pregnancy and post-natal care, providing massage therapies and Hypnobirthing to support women and parents to have a positive experience throughout and beyond pregnancy.   I am extremely passionate about helping parents to improve their experience and access to support services during this journey to parenthood.

I hold qualifications in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release and pregnancy massage therapies, skincare facial therapy, and am a Hypnobirthing and birth trauma recovery practitioner.

When I am not treating clients, I will most likely be pursuing my other passion; spending time with my misfit crew of rescue dogs who are just the best…!
